Beijing Scenes

This is the dinning room in the Beijing Hotel in central Beijing Hotel.  An older historial location.

In 1981 this was the Friendship Hotel basically on the outskirts of Beijing, but that far from the Beijing Zoo and the old Convention Centre.  Historially it was a military housing complex for Russians before they were thrown out of the country in the 50s.  It had multiple buildings and our suite was a room in the married officer's quarters.  The staff stayed in the enlisted man's quarters.  By my next trip, in 1983, it was closed and turned into an university for foreign students.
